Hong Kong, 2023
This project began with a viral rumour: a false report that all neon signs in Hong Kong were to be dismantled. Though untrue, the collective anxiety it sparked revealed a fading icon’s lingering glow in the city’s cultural psyche.

By tracing the decline of neon—from its luminous presence to its quiet disappearance—the project reflects on urban erasure, policy neglect, and the fragility of cultural symbols. Through AR reanimation, it offers a quiet act of resistance: letting neon flicker again, not as nostalgia, but as living memory.
